Ford's Faves

Every Friday, in-house music aficionado and buyer Tim Ford graces us with his musings on the best releases of the week. Can’t get enough? He’s also somehow still allowed to run our Instagram — check it.

Faves for Feb 23, 2018:

SCREAMING FEMALES: ALL AT ONCE

Screaming Females

All At Once

Less female screaming than the last releases, but still crammed with anger and frustration.

This is a welcome album to fill the gap until the new Sleater-Kinney album comes out.

Spice Girls had girl power.  Screaming Females have woman power.  And, ironically, two males in the band.

Ought

Room Inside the World

This came out last week but its been on repeat at ol’ t-bone’s house.  They used to be more art-punk, now more art-pop.

They took off their fugazi records and replaced them with roxy music records, then made this oddly beautiful pop album….but not “pop”….more “POPPP” (like a gunshot!)

OUGHT: ROOM INSIDE THE WORLD
U.S. GIRLS: IN A POEM UNLIMITED

U.S. Girls

In A Poem Unlimited

This is kind of a dance album.

But only when you want to dance awkwardly in front of a restaurant window just to be a creep and ruin peoples dinners.
