Faves for June 15, 2018:

CALPURNIA: SCOUT

Calpurnia

Scout

I hope people look at this album with an open mind, and not the fact that the Stranger Things kid is in it or the fact that none of these kids have underarm hair.

Because it’s actually pretty good!  Garage-y like Black Lips, Ty Segall or Twin Peaks.

Poppy like Mac Demarco.  Noisy like Deerhunter.

Also note Joe Keery (big haired dreamy Steve Harrington from Stranger Things) also has a band called Post Animal and they are also pretty awesome.

Sorpresa Familia

Another group only scraping their 20’s, but three albums in they aint no newb’s..

This album still has the Hole meets B52’s meets Sleater-Kinney vibe, but it’s more fun.

Less teen angst and more “holy crap the 20-something life is still pretty crap but oh well lets dance it off.”
