Ford's Faves

Every Friday, in-house music aficionado and buyer Tim Ford graces us with his musings on the best releases of the week. Can’t get enough? He’s also somehow still allowed to run our Instagram — check it.

Faves for Mar 23, 2018:

PREOCCUPATIONS: NEW MATERIAL

Preoccupations

New Material

These guys have been yelling at me through the stereo for the better part of 10 years.  First as WOMEN, then as VIET CONG.  Now as Preoccupations.

Of course they are going to get the Joy Division/Interpol rigmarole, but there’s something else in the songs.

Maybe it’s Calgary winters? Alberta mosquitoes? Don’t know, but SOMETHING is making them cranky… and it’s coming out in amazing music.

POST-

I love this dude.

It’s everything I wanted pop-punk to be.

It’s everything I didn’t want pop-punk to be.

But it’s not pop-punk.  But it IS pop-punk…

I don’t know.  I just love this dude.
