Ford’s Faves: David Byrne, Nap Eyes

Ford's Faves

Every Friday, in-house music aficionado and buyer Tim Ford graces us with his musings on the best releases of the week. Can’t get enough? He’s also somehow still allowed to run our Instagram — check it.

Faves for Mar 9, 2018:

DAVID BYRNE: AMERICAN UTOPIA

David Byrne

American Utopia

If David Byrne put out an album of him making armpit farts I would buy it, but this is going to be a very special album I think.

The singles ive heard are very late-era Talking Heads, and his work with St. Vincent.

Plus he’s working with Brian Eno again…. So that’s a nerd’s dream come true.

Nap Eyes

I’m Bad Now

I can probably say that along with Daniel Romano, Nap Eyes are my favourite Canadian band of all time at the moment.

Lou Reedy. Pavementy.

That very particular east coast humour.

Three albums in four years.

Every note perfect.
